The third annual meeting of the United Nations Fashion and Lifestyle Network was where Turkish denim mill Calik Denim recently demonstrated its dedication to revolutionizing the denim supply chain. In order to spur immediate sustainability action, the event aims to create transparent, inclusive, and transformative collaboration among global fashion stakeholders.
The marketing executive for Calik Denim, Rukiye Kuzu, spoke about the company’s eco-friendly technologies, such as the biodegradable B210 technology, and its ethical production strategy during the meeting. B210 is a 2022 product that eliminates textile waste by combining innovative yarn technology with a unique finishing procedure to allow synthetic fibers to biodegrade in 210 days. Every stretch fabric produced by Calik can be treated using this non-toxic method.
Additionally, Kuzu presented Calik Denim’s sustainability vision and strategy, highlighting the company’s involvement in eco-industrial projects that include collections made with regenerative cotton and regenerative agriculture. She mentioned that Regenagri-certified regenerative cotton is used in the Fall/Winter 24–25 line by Calik and that the brand intends to increase the amount of this material in upcoming collections. The business’s involvement in the United Nations Fashion and Lifestyle Network as a 2024 thinking partner demonstrates its dedication to sustainable development.
