Japanese sportswear giant ASICS introduced its latest GEL-DS TRAINER 14 sneakers through a dynamic campaign event in Mumbai, reinforcing the brand’s growing focus on fashion-forward SportStyle offerings.

Held at Late Checkout, Mumbai, the immersive launch featured influencers and sneaker lovers arriving on an ASICS SportStyle-branded double-decker bus, setting the stage for an event that paid homage to 2000s-era fashion, urban culture, and versatile comfort.

Designed to blur the lines between sneaker culture and high fashion, the event included interactive highlights like a memory wall, celebrating ASICS’ legacy and consumer connection. The launch is a major milestone for the brand’s SportStyle division, which is focused on combining lifestyle-driven designs with its heritage in athletic innovation.

“We see a significant rise in sneaker demand that goes beyond performance,” said Rajat Khurana, Managing Director of ASICS India and South Asia. “With the GEL-DS TRAINER 14, inspired by the original 2009 silhouette, we’re strengthening our presence in the lifestyle segment, offering sneakers that fuse high-performance DNA with modern streetwear appeal.”

The GEL-DS TRAINER 14 showcases lightweight construction paired with retro-inspired design features like signature quarter-panel overlays and open mesh uppers, making it a stylish yet functional pick for everyday wear. Available in Truffle Grey/Pure Silver and White/Tai Chi Yellow, the unisex sneaker retails at INR 9,999.

The sneakers are now available across ASICS retail stores and online platforms, catering to India’s rapidly growing sneaker consumer base seeking both performance and fashion.
