Pratteln, Switzerland, October 17, 2024 – This month at PERFORMANCE DAYS 2024 in Munich, Archroma, a leader in specialty chemicals worldwide that promote sustainable solutions, will present developments that promote sustainability for functional fabrics.

“Brands in the workwear, athleisure, sportswear, and sports fashion categories need to blend style and utility to create products that are better for the environment and people in order to compete effectively in today’s market. According to Lee Howarth, Director of Strategic Marketing & Brand Engagement at Archroma, “Archroma supports the industry in adopting cleaner chemistries that not only save water and energy but also boost end-product performance and factory productivity.”

The perfect venue for us to discuss how developments under our ‘PLANET CONSCIOUS+’ concept are expanding the possibilities for sustainable functional fabrics is PERFORMANCE DAYS.

“PLANET CONSCIOUS+,” which was unveiled last month, is a roadmap intended to assist mills and garment and textile businesses in mapping out their sustainability journeys. Its six dimensions are as follows: the advanced COLOR MANAGEMENT+ color design and development solution; global INNOVATION+ research and development initiatives; transparency-driven communication solutions; the powerful end-to-end SUPER SYSTEMS+ that combine processing solutions and intelligent effects; the SAFE EDGE+ compliance platform and beyond-compliance product portfolio; the ONE WAY+ value chain mapping and Sustainability Improvement Program.

Archroma’s Conscious coloring range is one of the developments under the “PLANET CONSCIOUS+” vision that will be on display at PERFORMANCE DAYS 2024. It includes the robust TERASIL® W/WW disperse dyes for exceptional results for polyester and its blends, even for deep and very deep shades; the award-winning AVITERA® SE dye range for high-performance cellulosic dyeing that is both economical and environmentally friendly; and the ERIOFAST® reactive dyes for intense shades and excellent fastness on polyamide (PA) and PA/elastane blends. Additionally, Archroma is showcasing its exclusive EarthColors® technology, which turns food and agricultural waste into high-performance dyes.

The Archroma team will also showcase sophisticated odor-neutralizing solutions from the Sanitized® OdorexTM product family and fluorine-free durable water repellents from the PHOBOTEX® and ZELAN® product ranges, drawing on its wide array of intelligent effects. The featured technologies were POWER COTTON, which offers five times the abrasion resistance of cotton while maintaining its inherent softness, and coldblack®, a finishing technology that consistently provides UV protection and keeps the wearer cool, even for dark materials.
