The Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) has called on the government to announce the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) 2.0 scheme, including 10 high potential MMF garment and cotton apparel products, as soon as possible.

Chairman of AEPC, Naren Goenka, highlighted the demands of the industry and the issues currently facing the sector, saying, “We have briefed the government about the RMG exports scenario and issues we are facing currently.”

In addition to the early announcement of the PLI 2.0 scheme, AEPC has also requested a reduction in the value addition criteria, an extension of the ATUFS program, and the disbursement of RoSCTL funds through bank transfer. The council has also asked for relaxations for apparel exporters under various provisions of the FTP.
