The property for the Mega Textile and Apparel Park under the PM Mitra plan in Lucknow has been decided, according to the Uttar Pradesh government. The land has reportedly been located in the Lucknow neighbourhood of Malihabad’s Atari village. One lakh young people are anticipated to get employment after the park is finished.
Through various investors who will be a part of the projected park, the Yogi Adityanath-led UP government intends to bring in an investment of Rs 10,000 crore. The park would have cutting-edge amenities to ensure global competitiveness and seeks to employ one lakh young people. The benefits of connectivity were taken into consideration when choosing Atari for the park’s building.
The major reason for creating the park was to consolidate all the requirements for the textile industry in one location, which would save production costs. Given its connection, the Lucknow capital’s Attari village was selected. It is located 20 km from the four-lane highways NH-20 and SH-20, which connect Lucknow to Sitapur and Hardoi, respectively. A 20-kilometer, six-lane outer ring road is also present.
With Lucknow Railway Station 40 kilometres away and Malihabad Railway Station 16 kilometres away, the park also benefits from good rail accessibility. The dedicated freight route at Kanpur Node is 95 kilometres from the park, the inland container depot in Kanpur is 111 kilometres distant, and the Lucknow International Airport is located 45 kilometres from the park.
Through a public-private partnership (PPP) approach, the park is to be developed according to the proposal. A provision of Rs 300 crore has been made for industrial units based on a first-come, first-served basis, and Rs 500 crore worth of key infrastructure would be built as part of this plan.
The park’s development has been split into three sections: general infrastructure, social infrastructure, and premium space in order to give cutting-edge amenities.
