Reliance Retail, a subsidiary of Reliance Industries, is intensifying its efforts to distribute clothing and fashion products to third-party stores as part of its business-to-business (B2B) venture. The company has launched over 50 exclusive brands, including Silkfeet, Jivers, Xlerate, Feet Up, Dhuni by Avaasa, Riva, John Player Select, Kidlyboo, and Altair. These brands span various categories such as footwear, athleisure, Indian wear, womenswear, menswear, and kidswear.

Under its expansion strategy, Reliance Retail plans to increase the number of exclusive brands by 2-3 times, aiming to extend its fashion business beyond its stores. These brands will be available through third-party stores within Reliance Retail’s apparel distribution network across all markets.

The company is also conducting a pilot under its Ajio Business banner, which will be scaled up by next summer. Through Ajio Business, Reliance Retail will launch its apparel and fashion brands in Western wear, Indian wear, innerwear, costume jewelry, footwear, and fashion accessories. The aim is to organize the unorganized sector, as around 80% of the apparel retail market in India remains unorganized.

According to company executives, the B2B business in apparel is expected to become a larger revenue generator than Reliance Retail’s apparel retail stores in the next five years. With over 4,000 stores across multiple brands and Trends alone, accounting for more than 2,600 stores, Reliance Retail aims to tap into the immense opportunity in the organized apparel retail sector.

Reliance Retail distributes other popular apparel and fashion brands such as Campus, Khadim’s, Liberty, Biba, Globaldesi, Lotto, and Adidas through its Ajio Business platform.

To achieve its expansion goals, Reliance Retail plans to increase the newer formats by 50% annually while expanding Trends stores by 10-15%. The overall apparel market in India is growing at 11%, while the organized retail segment is seeing even stronger growth at 18-20%.

With its strategic moves and commitment to transforming the apparel retail landscape, Reliance Retail is reinforcing its position as a key player in the Indian fashion industry.
