The 2nd CMAI FAB SHOW (Fabrics, Accessories, & Beyond) ended on a highly successful note after 3 days of hectic business activity. a little over 8,500 Buyers, Brands, and Retailers visited the Fair, including a delegation of 15 Garment Manufacturers and Buying Houses from Bangladesh, and 3 from UAE. In all, 28 International Buyers registered for this edition of the CMAI FAB SHOW.
The FAB Show was Inaugurated by the Secretary Textiles, Shri U. P. Singh, IAS, who complimented CMAI for bringing the entire Supply Chain for Garments under one roof. In his interaction with the Industry Members, he assured them that the Government was considering bringing out the PLI-2 Scheme, which would take into account the various suggestions of the Garment Industry whilst framing its rules. Ms. RoopRashi, IA & AS, Textiles Commissioner who was also present at the Inauguration, urged the Industry to focus on Sustainability in their products and processes, as that was going to play an important role in how the World looks at Indian Textiles.
In spite of the somewhat sluggish market conditions, the over 200 Exhibitors expressed tremendous satisfaction with the quality of Buyers visiting the Show and the business conducted. ”Apart from the excellent turn out of Buyers, we all Exhibitors are extremely happy with the fantastic management and arrangements of the Show, which is really of World Class” said JayeshkumarRasiklal, one of the Exhibitors, whilst congratulating the CMAI Team. Mr SaileshKukreja, another Exhibitor endorsed this sentiment, saying “ A Superb Show- My Congratulations to CMAI “
A unique feature of the 2nd FAB SHOW was the Theme Pavilion, which showcased the History of Textiles in India and the current emphasis on Sustainability. An amazing range of innovative and exciting new Fabrics were on display – including Fabrics made from Jute, Banana, Lotus Stem, etc. “Along with the scintillating Fashion Show, the Theme Pavilion was the largest attraction of the FAB Show this time, and greatly appreciated by all the Visitors” informed Rajesh Masand, President, CMAI.
The FAB Show was also visited by the Hon’ble Minister for Textiles, Government of Maharashtra, Shri Chandrakant Dada Patil, who was extremely impressed by the work done by CMAI, and asked CMAI to prepare a detailed note on ways to increase employment in Textile and Garment Industry of Maharashtra. He will be meeting officials of CMAI again in the coming weeks.
Among other notable Visitors to the Show were :-
1) The Counsel General of Indonesia, Mr.AgusP.Saptono also visited the Show and discussed with CMAI on how to improve Trade between the Textile Industry of India and Indonesia.
2) Dr.A.K.M.AtiqulHaque, Trade Commissioner, Bangladesh High Commission, New Delhi who visited the CMAI’s 2nd FAB Show on 20th September 2022 and Complimented CMAI for including Bangladesh as a Focus Country for the Show and also inviting Leading Buying Houses and Manufacturers from Bangladesh.
Naveen Sainani, Chairman FAB SUB Committee, told media persons “ Buoyed by the success of this Edition, we will be holding our 3rd FAB Show in April 2023, and we are expecting a minimum of 300 Exhibitors in this Show”.
