NIFT MUMBAI ORIENTATION PROGRAMME 2022

NIFT Mumbai has organised three days Orientation Program event to welcome its 333 new entrants in Undergraduate (Design/Technology) and Post Graduate (Design Research/ Fashion Management) courses. This event is scheduled from 3rd August to 5th August 2022 at NIFT Campus Kharghar for Foundation Programme students.

On the first day, the formal function of the orientation programme was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp by Campus Director Prof. Dr Pawan Godiawala, Ex-Dean Prof. Dr Sharmila Dua, Joint Director Mr Khusal Junagade and Campus Academic Co-ordinator Prof. Dr Sushil Raturi.

The campus Director, Prof. Dr Pawan Godiawala, congratulated all the freshers of NIFT Mumbai. Addressing the students and parents, Director Mumbai talked about NIFT’s time-tested teaching pedagogy, which ensures to discover their identity. NIFT equips them to hone their professional skills by encouraging them to explore new avenues. He mentioned in his speech that NIFT Mumbai is committed to academic excellence and the vision of the institute provides a strong foundation to foster its aspirants. He concluded his speech with a famous motivational couplet :

Abhi to Asli Manjil pana baki hai

iradon ka imtihan baki hai

toli hai mutthi bhar jameen 

abhi tolna aasman baki hai.

During the day, a Cyber Jagrookta session was organised for the students conducted by Mr Sagar Gawasane, API, Cyber Crime Cell, Navi Mumbai Police Commissionarate. He talked about online financial and social media frauds and gave insight on how to prevent these frauds. In his speech, he shared a few cases of cybercrime he has recently handled. The session was very beneficial for the students.The Joint Director and Controller of Examinations NIFT Mumbai gave the students an overview of the examination procedures. The Campus Academic Coordinator introduced the academic structure of NIFT. The students took a Campus tour and visited their respective departments to get an overview of their departments. The students and parents attended the orientation programme with full enthusiasm, and overall, there was a lot of positive energy on campus.
