Following growing customer demand for more mindful alternatives, Marks & Spencer has released its new back to school collection, which it claims is its most sustainable to date.
In their new school uniforms, Marks & Spencer has converted to organic cotton for all knitwear, jersey, and sweatpants. In addition, the shop is offering more recycled polyester and sustainably produced viscose, as well as trimmings such as sewing thread, buttons, and interlining. Marks & Spencer’s star item for the new collection, a polo shirt, is made of organic cotton fabric with recycled interlining, threads, and buttons.
For the first time in company history, Marks & Spencer is switching to organic cotton. The business claims it has a “duty” to make its offerings more sustainable and environmentally friendly. The firm will use more recycled products this year than ever before, including more recycled cotton.
