Japanese sports clothing and accessories company sales ¥43 bn

In the second quarter (Q2) FY20, Descente Ltd, a Japanese sports clothing and accessories company, posted 34.9 per cent sales decline to ¥42.8 billion (Japanese Yen) compared to the sales of ¥65.9 billion in the same period previous fiscal. Operating income for the quarter ended on September 30, 2020, was ¥2.4 billion (Q2 FY19: ¥2.6 billion).
Ordinary income for the period dropped to ¥2.0 billion (¥2.9 billion). Profit attributable to the owners of parent was ¥1.2 billion (¥2.2 billion).
Sales of Descente brand slipped to ¥17.3 billion (¥27.5 billion). Le coq sportif sales dropped to ¥12.2 billion ($18.4 billion). Munsingwear sales came down to ¥0.4 billion (¥0.5 billion).
For the second quarter, sales in Japan decline to ¥18.2 billion (¥27.5 billion), while sales in South Korea came down to ¥20.3 billion (¥32.7 billion). Sales in China were flat at ¥0.3 billion.
In its forecast for fiscal 2020, company’s expectations for sales remains unchanged at ¥101.0 billion.
