Japan Tops Apparel Buyer Representation at Bharat Tex 2025

Bharat Tex 2025, the second edition of the prestigious textile fair, was officially inaugurated today by Union Minister of Textiles, Shri Giriraj Singh, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The event saw the participation of over 5,000 buyers from more than 110 countries, making it a global hub for the textile industry.

Inspired by the Prime Minister’s 5F vision – from farm to fibre to factory to fashion to foreign – Bharat Tex is committed to transforming the textile value chain through sustainability, circularity, and digitization. The opening ceremony featured traditional rituals performed by Shri Singh, along with the Minister of State for Textiles, Shri Pabitra Margherita, and other esteemed dignitaries.

In his address, Minister Giriraj Singh highlighted the leadership of the Prime Minister, which is helping elevate India’s textile sector and fostering strong international trade relationships.

Japan Leads Apparel Buyer Representation According to Shri Sudhir Sekhri, Chairman of the AEPC, Japan emerged as the leading country in terms of apparel buyer representation at Bharat Tex 2025. Other countries with significant buyer presence included the UAE, Iran, USA, Spain, UK, South Africa, Russia, and Australia. This global participation strengthens India’s position as a reliable partner in the global textile market.

Prominent Global Brands at the Expo Notable brands attending the event included Apparel Group (UAE), Primark Stores Ltd. (Ireland), Adastria Co. Ltd. (Japan), Idkids (France), Melon Fashion Group (Russia), and many others from across the globe.

Commitment to Sustainability Bharat Tex 2025 is focused on promoting eco-friendly practices within the textile industry. The event is showcasing sustainable innovations, such as organic fabrics, recycled materials, and energy-efficient production technologies.

A New Era for Indian Textiles Chairman Sekhri emphasized that India’s textile industry is embracing a new era of global engagement. The event will feature exhibitions, knowledge sessions, G2G meetings, B2B networking opportunities, product launches, and more, creating a dynamic platform for innovation and international collaboration.

Event Overview Bharat Tex 2025 aims to be the premier international platform for the textile industry, with a focus on growth, sustainability, and technology. Over 6,000 international buyers from 110 countries and more than 120,000 visitors are expected to attend. The expo covers the entire textile value chain, including fibre, yarn, fabrics, garments, home textiles, and technical textiles, highlighting India’s role in the global textile market.
