Values, strategies, an imprinting for innovation and a well-defined vision and expertise in sustainable fashion. This mix is the wide and solid common denominator giving birth to the collaboration between Iluna Group, leader in the production of smart lace, and Maglificio Ripa, internationally recognized for the production of premium and responsible jersey.

Two mature companies projected towards new formats of proactive collaboration, both established in common industries – from underwear to beachwear and sportswear – that have chosen to create a symbiosis of intents and strategies, each maintaining its own identity and independence.

“We are living in a moment of strong change, from the wave of sustainability that is finally sweeping the fashion world to new market scenarios. And we are convinced that collaboration is the key to facing these new challenges. In Maglificio Ripa we saw a complementary and unique partner with whom we can reach customers, suppliers and other partners in a more complete way.” comments Furio Annovazzi, CEO of Iluna Group.

“Ours is not a union between companies, but a new model of partnership, a sort of strategic symbiosis aimed at developing together new paths that can make the both of us grow, while offering a more complete proposal to the market.” adds Luca Bianco, CEO of Maglificio Ripa.

One of the first examples of this new format is the joint stand at MarediModa [number 28-29], a single space where visitors can discover the latest collections of the two companies, and imagine new designs and solutions for sustainable fashion.

Iluna Group and Maglificio Ripa also created the new campaign and photo shoot together, as well as developed a trend scenario that allowed both companies to better embrace the evolving market by sharing information, perspectives and ideas.

THE COLLECTIONS

ILUNA GROUP SS 2023

Iluna’s journey into the new dimension of responsible quality continues with ad hoc developments in the area of GRS (Global Recycled Standard), certified recycled yarns aimed at unprecedented effects in look, performance and feel. In terms of cords and shiny yarns, there has been an expansion of the range of GRS yarns, which until now have only been available in opaque. The cordonetto is a precious yarn with ROICA™ EF core, GRS certified and developed with 50% pre-consumer recycled content, double covered with a shiny yarn equally recycled; the brilliant and translucent is instead to add shiny effects, which were impossible until now with a GRS yarn. From this constant search for innovation in new and increasingly sustainable techniques, the printing processes were born: GRS certified sublimation printing and register printing with Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certification. The latter overlaps exactly with the design and colors its details, doing what dyeing cannot do.

With BIOLINE Iluna embraces the circular economy and presents proposals that combine AMNI SOUL ECO® polyamide 6.6 yarn, which degrades in about 5 years after disposal, and ROICA™ V550 sustainable stretch yarn, which – once disposed – degrades in a smart way without releasing harmful substances into the environment, according to Hohenstein’s Environmental Compatibility Certification. ROICA™ V550 also carries the Gold Level Material Health Certificate from the Cradle-to-Cradle Product Innovation Institute, which evaluated the yarn’s impact on human and environmental health. In addition, Iluna features an exceptional range of natural colors made from flowers and plants and a color chart with 16 shades, which is still expanding. All dyes are GOTS certified and their color fastness meets the requirements of OEKO TEX® Standard 100.

MAGLIFICIO RIPA SS 2023

For summer 2023 Maglificio Ripa presents the Splash collection. In it, all the tradition reworked in contemporary codes, the push towards innovation and a strong emphasis on sustainability. A central theme that has seen the Lombardy company at the forefront for years, even on a European level, with a green stance that crosses the entire product and value chain. This is concentrated in the Earth line, born five years ago as an experimental project to develop a new generation of eco-responsible fabrics.

Today this new philosophy is permeating every segment of the textile offer, and the search for integral sustainability has pushed Maglificio Ripa to use the most avant-garde sustainable yarns (pre-consumer and post-consumer) in combination, for example with the recycled stretch yarn ROICA EF™ by Asahi Kasei: fabrics made with EVO® by Fulgar, Q-NOVA® by Fulgar, a series of articles in Tencel™ and a selection of proposals with Sensil® Ecocare by Nilit. Since this proposal is having so much success, the company has added a line of biodegradable fabrics made with the Sensil® BioCare fiber, a 6.6 sustainable nylon with unique characteristics able to reduce textile pollution in the oceans and in landfills.

On the style front, the Splash collection for summer 2023 is structured like a compelling story written in four episodes. The first is titled 90’s, and it takes us to rediscover the enthusiasm and energy of the nineties with its multivitamin exuberance, fluorescent colors, graphic prints, jacquards and patchworks. With HOLIDAY CHECK we rediscover the evocative atmosphere of an Italian vacation through a reassuring and sophisticated proposal of textured fabrics, crochet and jacquard, lace and structures. SPICE, on the other hand, takes us far away. The theme is exotic but not predictable. In fact lands, spices and warm colors are revisited in a modern key. HEROES, finally, is the most avant-garde proposal with hi-tech colors, vinyl aspects, games of lurex, glows, contrasts and illuminated pastels.
