Sapphire Textile Mills has teamed up with Good Earth Cotton to create a yarn and fabric collection for the home.

Good Earth Cotton sequesters more carbon than it emits during its life cycle, which is important because the global textile sector accounts for about 8% to 10% of global carbon emissions. The Sapphire line attempts to alleviate the global textile industry’s need to lessen its environmental impact.

The Sapphire collection comprises a variety of fabrics appropriate for bed linens, interior design, and garden and kitchen textiles, and is made up of numerous greige, dyed, and melange yarns.

“This is a critical step for us to give accurate and timely information to our clients that is backed by science and transparency,” said Sapphire Textiles board member Nabeel Abdullah.

FibreTrace, a traceability technology that uses both physical and digital tracing methods, is also used in the collection. This enables marketers to communicate the carbon positive storey of their cotton products to end consumers, allowing them to appreciate the environmental benefits.
