Gloria Jeans is urged by BGMEA to purchase more clothing from BD.

Gloria Jeans, a big Russian high street retailer, has been urged by BGMEA President Faruque Hassan to think about increasing the amount of clothing it sources from Bangladesh, particularly high-end & non-cotton goods, according to UNB.

During a meeting with Moyeen Ahmed, Gloria Jeans’ regional general manager for Bangladesh & India, the BGMEA president made the call. According to a news statement on Thursday, the latter paid a courtesy call to Faruque Hassan, president of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA).

They talked about a range of shared interests throughout the discussion, with a particular emphasis on enhancing Gloria Jeans’ cooperative connection with Bangladesh’s apparel sector.

Faruque Hassan gave a perceptive summary of the steps taken by Bangladesh’s apparel sector to improve manufacturing capacities, especially with regard to the creation of luxury goods such clothing made of technology textiles and synthetic fibres.

He emphasised the BGMEA’s continuous efforts to support environmentally friendly procedures & the development of a circular economy model in Bangladesh’s RMG sector.

Bangladesh has been a source of clothing for Gloria Jeans, a well-known Russian high street retailer.
