Varun Bahl, a renowned fashion designer, showcased his latest collection, the “Inner Bloom-Festive Edit,” at Lakmé Fashion Week in collaboration with R|Elan, the textile division of Reliance Industries Limited. The collection pays homage to the beauty of nature, as well as Varun’s two decades of expertise in the fashion industry.
The collection showcases an exquisite display of 3-dimensional embroideries and opulent fabrics sourced from R|Elan’s versatile range. Varun’s artistic palette includes an array of festive colours, diverging from his signature style. The garments elegantly incorporate R|Elan™ fabrics known for their high-performance and eco-friendly attributes.
The collection features feminine and free-flowing drapes for lehengas, statement-making jackets and cape sets, and stylish trouser suits. Varun’s colour choices range from old rose and duck egg blue to sage green and black, creating a visually stunning amalgamation of hues.
Embroidery takes centre stage in Varun’s ensembles, with zardozi and aari work, as well as intricate bead embroidery, accentuating the exquisite craftsmanship. Metallic accents, bugle and caviar beads, sequins, and floral patches bring a touch of grandeur to the garments.
Notably, Varun’s collection aligns with R|Elan and his commitment to sustainability. Forty per cent of the collection is made from R|Elan Greengold, a fabric composed of 100% post-consumer PET bottles. Additionally, Varun incorporates a small upcycled segment, showcasing patchwork crafted from borders and 3-D floral patches.
