A bodysuit is endlessly versatile — dress it up or down, wear it with jeans or a skirt, layer it — but it’s often considered a staple. That being said, bodysuits are also turning into statement pieces in their own right. Brands such as Rui Zhou are turning them into works of art, adding interesting cutouts or colorways that make them worthy of being a standalone piece. And someone who’s on board with the bold bodysuit memo is Kylie Jenner, who just wore an unexpected version for Instagram.
The reality star and beauty mogul wore a black and white tie-dye bodysuit that instantly stole the spotlight. It’s more of a catsuit, really, as it’s floor-length—but its side and back cutouts made up for the otherwise fully-covered silhouette. The style is the Nyce full bodysuit by Matte Brand, a cool emerging label in L.A. whose slinky bodysuits have been worn by Kim Kardashian West and more. Jenner’s style is actually inspired by the designer Briana Shaneè Wilson’s love of the ’90s, and on the brand’s website, there are several similar styles available now (and many of them are under $100, too).
Given the bodysuit is a look on its own, Jenner accessorized it minimally, slipping on gold hoops and a few bracelets to finish it off. When you’re wearing a tie-dye catsuit, you don’t need much else.
