During one of the major revolution periods for the fashion industry, Berto decided to
start a journey, landing in to the various sectors of the whole Denim value chain.
This path will be realized creating different collaborations within Berto and garments
makers, brands, yarn producers, chemistry producers, sharing Berto’s production
philosophy and creating synergies that will really make the denim production beautiful,
unique and sustainable.
The first chapter of this journey starts with the creation of a capsule collection made of
Berto most innovative and sustainable fabrics. The garments have been made and
treated by Blue Matters, a fully integrated green factory newly established by Ereks and
Era group.
Just as for a great chef, using innovative and excellent ingredients allows him to create
amazing dishes, so does using Berto’s highest quality and sustainable fabrics, Blue
Matters was able to create unique, ethical and cool garments.
“Blue Matters Platform has been built on a strong circularity vision by making sure that
we also contribute to our environment by saving water, energy and minimizing waste &
chemical usage and thanks to that, we received the most important certifications today
like GOTS, BSCI-AMFORI, SEDEX-SMETA and soon we will receive GRS, ISO 50001 LEED
and Higg index environmental module too. ” said Eylem Temizkan Board Member –
Partner of Blue Matters company “We realized that this vision requires synergy and
collaboration with the most valuable denim producers and BERTO is definitely one of
them”
“We decided to take this path together with our stakeholders to go through the United
Nations Sustainable Development Goals. By 2030 we want to do our best supporting
also the other actors of the value chain, sharing our vision and our beautiful, unique and
sustainable philosophy. We are pleased that the first capsule was made by a new and
green company like Blue Matters”. Said Mr Flavio Berto, CEO of Berto and 4th generation
of the Berto Family.
The BBM (Berto-Blue Matters) collection is made by 14 different models designed by
Beril Karabiyik, a young and dynamic designer. All the garments have been treated on
the respect of the environment, all EIM scores are in the green area plus there is no
permanganat, no chlorine and no stone.
Fabric used come from Berto SS22 collection, they are GOTS certified, this means that
the whole production process is approved and certified by GOTS. We also added some
Pg Denim collection fabrics, they are OCS certified and their look is really authentic and
unique.
The BBM Capsule Collection will be launched worldwide on February 2021 and will be
also available on Berto (https://www.berto.it/digital-showroom/ ) and Blue Matters
(https://www.ereksgarment.com/collections/berto-x-blue-matters ) virtual showrooms.
