As the festival season draws near, Indore, famed for its 1,000+ small and medium-sized garment makers, is preparing for a substantial uptick in business. The city’s readymade garment industry is seeing an increase in orders from the outstation market throughout India in advance of Rakshabandhan.
Given the favorable weather and anticipated improved harvest this year, local manufacturers are now hopeful about an amazing double-digit expansion in their operations.
According to Ashish Nigam, president of the Readymade Textile Dealers Association, “Retailers are putting larger buys, and orders from our usual buyers in southern India have picked up. Additionally, we are seeing an increase in inquiries from Gujarat and Maharashtra, and dispatches to these areas will start in about a week. We anticipate a significant increase in business this season over last, with growth expected to be in the double digits.
The Readymade Textile Dealers Association believes that due to an increase in high-volume orders, business will experience a major uptick this season, with forecasts of a 15-20% increase over the previous season.
Indore is known as the pivot trading center for clothing and readymade supplies across the country.
Over 60% of the market share in this booming business is contributed by the important marketplaces in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh. Manufacturers anticipate a surge in new orders and shipment to Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Maharashtra starting in September.
