To welcome the students of the new Academic Batch, the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Mumbai is hosting a three-day orientation session. The NIFT Mumbai campus will host the event from July 31, 2024, to August 2, 2024. It is intended to acquaint newcomers with the exciting lifestyle at NIFT and facilitate a seamless transition into their new academic and creative careers in the fashion industry.

A variety of events and workshops are part of the Orientation Program, which is designed to assist students in becoming acquainted with the NIFT campus and surroundings. Presentations from different departments will start the first day, July 31, 2024, with the goal of educating students about important topics like placement prospects, academic requirements, attendance standards, and more. After the lecture, there will be an ice-breaking activity to help students get to know their fellow classmates and promote constructive team building through fun games and activities.

Day 2 of the program will begin with an anti-ragging seminar on August 1, 2024. Students will learn about their rights, NIFT’s stringent zero-tolerance policy against ragging, and the importance of creating a welcoming and safe atmosphere at the institute during this session. Ms. Janaki Mahar, a well-known authority on legal and moral behavior, will lead it. After the seminar, a ‘Unboxing Your Personal Brand’ session will be held under the guidance of Ms. Riti Kapoor Chopra, a renowned personal development expert and coach. The goal of this workshop is to help students discover and develop their own skills and qualities so they can boldly showcase their work and themselves in the cutthroat fashion and lifestyle sector.

During the orientation program, an alumni interaction session is held to provide new students with insightful information about the experiences of graduates. Alumni will give an overview of current trends, difficulties, and opportunities in the business as well as tell tales about their work in the field.

Dr. Sandeep Kelkar, a specialist in psychology and human behavior, will give a discussion on emotional intelligence on the program’s last day, August 2, 2024. He will discuss the idea of emotional intelligence, emphasizing the value of being able to identify, comprehend, and control one’s own emotions in addition to having empathy for other people. The importance of emotional intelligence in leadership, decision-making, and interpersonal and professional interactions will be emphasized in this workshop. ‘Resilience Through Creative Expression’ is the title of the program’s final session, which will be facilitated by Ms. Sarika, a skilled artist and therapist. She will talk about how engaging in artistic pursuits may be a really effective way to express feelings, manage stress, and develop resilience. She will exhort students to value creativity as a professional trait as well as as a means of personal growth.

The goal of NIFT Mumbai’s Orientation Program is to help new students get started on the path to fulfilling their aspirations in the fashion and lifestyle business while also helping them feel strongly like members of the institute.
