Ahlstrom-Munksjö is expanding its Malmedy facility in Belgium to satisfy rising demand for wallcovering nonwovens. The €10 million expansion, announced in January 2020, would more than quadruple the plant’s capacity and expand output to include filtering materials. The investment will result in the creation of 40 new employment opportunities in the area.
Ahlstrom-Munksjö is a significant provider of wallcovering materials, offering a wide range of high-end nonwovens. The market for digitally printed wallcoverings is projected to expand further due to rising need for creative textures and colours, which will be aided by increased customer demand for home décor and new interior design trends.
