According to Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, the national-level multi-state cooperative societies that the Union Cabinet has approved for the promotion of organic products and exports will greatly improve farmers’ income over the next ten years.

Shah, who was in town to officially open the Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) “Kisan Bhavan,” also pushed farmers to switch to natural farming, saying that doing so would enhance their income and safeguard the environment from the harm that chemical fertilisers inflict to the land.

“I can tell you that the effort begun by (Prime Minister Narendra) Modi saheb would not only improve the income of every farmer by many times over the next ten years, but also by more than double that amount. only two export cooperative societies and Organic farming will significantly enhance farmers’ revenue “said he.

Another cooperative group will assist the farmers in exporting their goods from any hamlet in the nation and act as an export house, transferring the profits right into the bank accounts of the farmers. “To do this, I will meet with the head of Gujarat’s district cooperative banks and APMCs in the upcoming month to register them with cooperative societies.

Farmers would flourish as a result of this “said Shah, who also lay the cornerstone for the cooperative bank building in the Junagadh district.

“Farmers gain from cooperatives. Because of the improper cooperative structure, you (farmers) do not receive any of the central government’s money. All of the central government’s plans would fail if the cooperative structure were to grow strong. begin to reach you,” he stated.

According to Shah, many of farmers have switched to natural farming because the widespread use of urea has degraded farmland. The world needs to see a path, thus we must act quickly to transition to natural farming. I can promise you that natural farming is shown to boost production rather than decrease it based on scientific evidence, he added.

He added that “Amul” has already begun selling such products. He noted that in order to receive a better price, such produce needs to be marketed, certified, and protected from fraudulent organic products entering the market.
