National Handloom Expo Starts In Hyderabad

The 14-day expo is being organised by the Telangana government in collaboration with the Development Commissioner for Handlooms, New Delhi, according to a statement from Dr. Buddhaprakash Jyoti, Commissioner, Handloom & Textiles and Apparel Export Parks, Telangana State. The main objectives of the expo are to increase sales of handloom fabrics and to promote the handloom sector. The National Exhibition will feature participation from the Handloom Development Corporations of all the states and Union Territories in the country as well as state/regional/APEX weavers' cooperative groups. During the show, the organisations will present a wide variety of handloom products from all over India and provide discounts of 20 to 30 percent.
