A Major Leap in Polyamide Yarn Production

Nanshan Fashion successfully launches the world’s first PA66 spinning line with EvoQuench, marking rising global demand for polyamide yarn systems and strengthening its integrated textile operations.

Shandong Nanshan Fashion Technology Co., Ltd. has taken a major step toward strengthening its integrated textile value chain with the commissioning of a multi-line PA66 spinning facility for microfiber yarns at its Longkou site in Shandong Province. The plant, equipped with the world’s first PA66 spinning system paired with EvoQuench radial quenching technology, delivered outstanding yarn quality and high operational efficiency from the moment production began.

The new installation enables Nanshan Fashion to manufacture premium microfiber yarns for its own downstream processes, ensuring tighter control over quality, supply and product differentiation. Only a year after start-up, yarns produced on the Barmag system have already gained recognition in the market for their competitive pricing and first-class performance — a foundation that strengthens the company’s ambitions to expand its fashion brands internationally.

This large-scale polyamide 66 project mirrors a broader global shift toward PA yarn systems. “We are seeing increased interest in polyamide yarn plants. PA66 is a particular focus,” says Jens Schumacher, Sales Director at Barmag. “We have recently signed contracts for two more similar projects in East Asia.”

Schumacher notes that polyamide’s enhanced comfort compared to polyester allows manufacturers to command higher price points, making PA yarn production increasingly attractive. At the same time, EvoQuench radial quenching technology supports the efficient, stable manufacture of microfiber yarns — a key advantage for producers targeting performance and premium segments.

The partnership between Barmag and Nanshan Fashion extends beyond this initial success. At the end of 2023, both companies signed a strategic cooperation agreement covering PA6 and PA6.6 POY and DTY solutions, laying the groundwork for Nanshan Fashion’s entry into chemical fiber production. Nanshan Fashion belongs to the publicly listed Nanshan Group, one of China’s top 500 enterprises.
