Monforts to present coating and drying technologies at Techtextil 2026

Monforts will showcase its latest coating and drying technologies at Techtextil 2026, taking place in Frankfurt from April 21–24. The company will highlight developments in its MontexCoat, coaTTex and VertiDry systems for applications in technical textiles.
Over recent years, Monforts has expanded its coating technology portfolio with the introduction of the MontexCoat, coaTTex and VertiDry systems, which are designed to combine operational flexibility, controlled application and energy-efficient processing for technical textile production.
Company specialists will be available at Techtextil 2026 to outline how these coating and drying solutions can be used to enhance functional and performance properties in textile substrates across multiple end-use sectors.
In outdoor and architectural textiles, coated products include tents, awnings, sailcloth and blackout blinds, where coatings provide characteristics such as water resistance, dimensional stability, opacity and weather durability. In transport interiors, particularly automotive upholstery and interior fabrics, coatings are applied to influence abrasion resistance, surface feel, stain behaviour and long-term durability. Automotive suppliers also require consistent batch-to-batch quality, which is supported through digitally stored coating recipes that can be reused for repeat production.
Industrial applications represent another major area of use. Monforts coating systems process materials including high-temperature filter media, flame-retardant barrier fabrics and heavy membranes used in biogas storage. The technology is also applied to carbon fibre prepregs and composite reinforcement fabrics, where coating accuracy is essential for mechanical performance.
The MontexCoat system is designed to serve a wide range of markets and supports full PVC coatings, pigment dyeing, surface treatments with minimal penetration and solvent-based coatings. It can be configured for knife coating, roller coating or screen printing processes. The system is also intended to enable rapid changeovers between fabric runs while maintaining controlled energy and material use.

The coaTTex is dedicated to air knife and knife-over-roller coating.
The coaTTex coating unit is dedicated to air knife and knife-over-roller processes for single-sided application using paste or foam. It is used to add functional properties such as waterproofing, liquid and gas protection and breathability. Both MontexCoat and coaTTex units can be integrated into existing finishing lines or installed with new Monforts systems, including MONTEX stenter ranges.

VertiDry fully contactless and energy optimised convection dryer.
The VertiDry technology has been developed as a contactless, energy-optimised convection dryer. It is designed for use in conjunction with a stenter, either before or after the stenter depending on application needs. Its functions include pre-drying sensitive fabrics and drying after coating processes for airbags, denim fabrics and glass-fibre substrates. Other intended applications include sportswear, outerwear, carpets, geotextiles and tarpaulins.
For more than 40 years, Monforts machines have been produced at Montex Maschinenfabrik in St. Stefan, Austria. While standardised machines remain part of its offering, the company increasingly supplies customised equipment tailored to the requirements of technical textile producers.

“MONTEX stenters and THERMEX dyeing systems are the industry standards for the dyeing and finishing of technical textiles, providing a number of advantages in terms of production throughput and especially in energy efficiency and savings,” said Nicole Croonenbroek. “These machines remain unmatched in terms of their robustness and long service life, as well as resource-efficient productivity. As a third strand of our business, our coating technologies are now being rapidly adopted by technical textile manufacturers, as the industry recognises their benefits. We look forward to discussing all possibilties for both established and new applications with interested parties in Frankfurt.”
Monforts will exhibit at stand C60 in Hall 12.0 at Techtextil 2026.
