Middle East Crisis May Impact Indian Textile Exports, Says CMAI

The ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East could impact India’s textile and apparel exports due to rising uncertainty and logistical challenges, according to industry representatives.
Rahul Mehta, Chief Mentor of the Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI), has shared concerns about the possible impact of the ongoing Middle East crisis on Indian textile exports.
“The impact will certainly be observed, both directly and indirectly. Heightened geopolitical tensions and uncertainty are likely to weigh on overall market sentiment, while logistics challenges such as rising freight rates and longer transit times could disrupt supply chains. Additionally, apparel exports to key Middle East markets may experience some pressure as trade flows adjust to the evolving situation.”
Industry observers note that exporters could face short-term challenges as geopolitical developments influence trade routes, shipping costs, and delivery timelines. The Middle East remains an important market for Indian apparel and textile shipments, making stability in the region crucial for maintaining smooth trade flows.
