Manufacturing Solutions Center Renews ISO/IEC 17025 Accreditation

The Manufacturing Solutions Center (MSC), a division of Catawba Valley Community College (CVCC), has renewed its ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation. The certification was granted by the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB) after an assessment of the center’s laboratory management and technical systems.
The Manufacturing Solutions Center (MSC), based in Conover, N.C., has secured renewal of its ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation. The certification was issued by the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB) following a comprehensive evaluation of the center’s laboratory management practices and technical operations.
ISO/IEC 17025 is an international standard applicable to testing and calibration laboratories. The accreditation indicates that the MSC meets requirements related to technical competence and the ability to generate consistent and accurate test results.
“Renewing our ISO 17025 accreditation with ANAB reinforces our role as a trusted partner for U.S. manufacturers,” said Jeff Neuville, Director of the Manufacturing Solutions Center. “This ‘gold standard’ ensures our clients that the results they receive are meeting the highest levels of quality and reliability, which is critical for their success in a competitive global market”.
The MSC’s accredited scope includes testing services for textile, furniture, and personal protective equipment (PPE) industries. These services cover textile and legwear performance testing, including abrasion resistance, colorfastness, and stretch properties.
The center also conducts furniture structural testing based on BIFMA standards, as well as validation testing for PPE such as medical gowns and masks through its PPE Resource Lab. In addition, MSC provides physical and chemical analysis, including testing for tensile strength, flammability, pH levels, and antimicrobial properties.
The center supports U.S. manufacturers by providing accredited testing services to help meet regulatory requirements, including CPSC third-party testing, and to verify product performance for retail and marketplace compliance.
The Manufacturing Solutions Center operates as part of Catawba Valley Community College in Hickory, North Carolina. It offers testing, prototyping, and business incubation services aimed at supporting manufacturing sector growth, with a focus on textiles and emerging technologies.
