MANTRA Receives ITTA Award for Technical Textile Yarn Innovation
Surat-based textile research institute recognised for developing four novel yarns for technical textile applications
MANTRA, a Surat-based textile research institute, has received an ITTA Award for its work in developing four novel yarns for technical textile applications. The recognised yarns include bamboo-charcoal embedded PET, Polybutylene Terephthalate (PBT), Standard Industrial PET, and castor-oil derived nylon/Bio-nylon 11.
The award was presented at the Indian Technical Textile Awards (ITTA) ceremony in Mumbai, which brought together industry leaders, policymakers and innovators from across the country.
MANTRA Recognised for Yarn Development
Umesh Patel of MANTRA received the award on behalf of the institute. The ceremony was attended by Shri Ajay Pandit, Joint Textile Commissioner, Office of the Textile Commissioner, Government of India, and Kartikey Dhanda, CEO of the Textile Committee, Government of India.
The four yarns recognised through the award were developed for applications in the technical textile sector:
- Bamboo-charcoal embedded PET
- Polybutylene Terephthalate (PBT)
- Standard Industrial PET
- Castor-oil derived nylon/Bio-nylon 11
Recognition for Technical Textile Research
MANTRA said the recognition reflects its work in research, innovation and industry collaboration in the technical textile sector.
