Mahlo to Showcase Orthopac RVMC-20 plus at ITMA Asia 2026

New weft straightening system combines AI-supported distortion correction with integrated process control to improve fabric quality, production efficiency and resource utilisation.
Mahlo GmbH + Co. KG will showcase its textile measurement and control technologies at ITMA Asia 2026 in Shanghai from November 20 to 24. The main focus will be the new Orthopac RVMC-20 plus, a system that combines AI-supported weft straightening with integrated process control to support consistent fabric quality and more efficient textile finishing.
Mahlo to Present Textile Control Technologies at ITMA Asia
Mahlo GmbH + Co. KG will present its system portfolio for the textile industry at ITMA Asia in Shanghai. At Booth C22 in Hall 7.1, the Bavarian technology specialist will demonstrate its solutions alongside local sales and service partner Kuantex and Mahlo China.
The technologies on display will focus on how intelligent measurement and control systems can improve the quality and efficiency of textile production processes. The Orthopac RVMC-20 plus will be a key exhibit, combining highly precise weft straightening with fully integrated process control.
Orthopac RVMC-20 plus Combines AI-Supported Control Systems
Mahlo has further developed its established technology for fully automatic distortion correction with the Orthopac RVMC-20 plus. The new system provides a more cost-effective alternative to its flagship model, the Orthopac RXVMC-20.
Like the RXVMC-20, the RVMC-20 plus uses two scanning units positioned at the fabric infeed and outfeed, together with AI-supported control technology. Its feed-forward control system detects fabric distortions before the material reaches the straightening rollers. Meanwhile, the closed-loop control system monitors the results at the outfeed and sends direct feedback to the controller, enabling real-time weft corrections.
The two control loops work together to maintain uniform fabric quality, including under changing distortion conditions and at high production speeds. The system also helps significantly reduce waste during batch changes.
Integrated Process Control Supports Resource Efficiency
The straightening system is complemented by integrated process control through Mahlo’s Optipac VMC-15. This system continuously monitors relevant production parameters online directly on the moving fabric web, including dwell time, weft density, residual moisture and exhaust air humidity.
Continuous monitoring helps identify process deviations at an early stage and supports more targeted resource use. It can help prevent unnecessary energy consumption caused by overdrying, optimise exhaust air conditions, reduce fabric discoloration resulting from excessive dwell times and minimise inconsistencies across the fabric web.
The combination of these measures also helps reduce waste and raw material consumption. By integrating straightening technology with process control, Mahlo aims to support more efficient, economical and resource-conscious textile finishing.
Straightening Solutions for Different Production Requirements
The Orthopac RVMC-20 plus expands Mahlo’s range of straightening machines, which covers different production requirements and quality standards.
The portfolio includes the Orthopac RVMC-15 as a standard weft straightener, the Plus version with additional scanning at the fabric infeed, and the Orthopac RXVMC-20 as a high-end system equipped with two independent straightening modules.
This range enables Mahlo to provide solutions for varying applications, sustainability objectives and production requirements.
“Requirements in textile production are highly diverse. Our broad portfolio enables us to provide the right solution for different applications, tailored to both the technical requirements and the economic objectives of our customers.”
Asia Remains an Important Market for Mahlo
Asia continues to be an important market for Mahlo because of the region’s diverse textile industry. The varying needs of regional manufacturers align with the company’s broad product portfolio.
ITMA Asia offers Mahlo an opportunity to present its latest technologies and strengthen engagement with customers and industry partners.
Ralph Greenwood-Mahlo, Owner and Managing Director; Thomas Höpfl, Head of Sales; and Clemens Kaplan, Textile Product Manager, will be available at the exhibition for discussions alongside the company’s local partner, Kuantex.
