Mahlo GmbH Appoints Stefan Moll as CEO from January 2026

Mahlo GmbH + Co. KG, a global supplier of measurement and control technology for web-shaped materials, has confirmed a change in top management effective January 1, 2026. As part of a planned succession process, Stefan Moll will take over as Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Rainer Mestermann, who will step down after leading the company for 14 years. The transition is aimed at ensuring long-term continuity while reinforcing Mahlo’s technological capabilities and international market position.
The company’s ownership emphasised that the leadership change reflects Mahlo’s long-term focus on stability, innovation, and sustained growth. Commenting on the appointment, Mahlo owner Ralph Greenwood-Mahlo said, “Stefan Moll is an excellent choice as the new CEO for our traditional company. We look forward to his expertise, fresh ideas, and perspectives.”
Stefan Moll brings extensive leadership experience from the global machinery and plant engineering sector. Alongside roles in international corporations, he is well acquainted with the structures and working culture of larger medium-sized, family-owned businesses. Explaining his motivation to join Mahlo, Moll stated, “Family businesses think long-term, act sustainably, and place great value on close, trusting cooperation.”
Prior to joining Mahlo, Moll served as Technical Managing Director at the Kiefel Group in Freilassing, a system supplier specialising in plastic, thermoforming, and welding technologies. In this position, he was responsible for driving technical innovation, shaping the digital strategy, and overseeing one of the company’s globally operating divisions.

A graduate engineer, Moll describes himself as an innovation-driven leader, a quality seen as particularly relevant during the company’s current phase of transformation. Highlighting the strategic importance of the period ahead, he said, “We are currently in a decisive phase of strategic alignment.” He further outlined his objectives by stating that his goal is “making Mahlo a profitable and future-proof company and inspiring employees, customers, and owners with the right strategy.”

Stefan Moll will succeed Rainer Mestermann, who guided the company for nearly 15 years. Acknowledging his contribution, Mahlo’s owners Ralph Greenwood-Mahlo and Aura Greenwood-Mahlo, who is also a member of the advisory board, said, “We thank Rainer Mestermann for his great dedication and contribution to the success of our company and wish him all the best for the future.”
