Mahlo GmbH + Co. KG, a global specialist in measurement and control systems for web-shaped materials, has announced a change in top management effective 1 January 2026. Stefan Moll will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer as part of a structured succession plan, succeeding long-serving CEO Rainer Mestermann, who will step down after nearly 14 years with the company.

The leadership transition reflects Mahlo’s long-term approach to organisational continuity and strategic development.

Stefan Moll brings extensive international experience in machinery and plant engineering, having worked across both large global corporations and medium-sized, family-owned industrial businesses. Most recently, he served as Technical Managing Director at the Kiefel Group, where he was responsible for technical innovation, digital strategy, and oversight of one globally operating business division.

Commenting on the appointment, Mahlo owner Ralph Greenwood-Mahlo said that Moll’s professional background and leadership perspective align well with the company’s long-term orientation. Moll has highlighted the value of family-owned business structures, noting their emphasis on sustainability, continuity, and trust-based collaboration.

Describing the current period as a critical phase for the company, Moll pointed to strategic alignment, innovation, and future readiness as key priorities. His stated objectives include strengthening Mahlo’s profitability, ensuring long-term stability, and engaging employees, customers, and ownership through a clearly defined strategy.

Moll succeeds Rainer Mestermann, who has led Mahlo since 2011. The owner family, Ralph Greenwood-Mahlo and Aura Greenwood-Mahlo, acknowledged Mestermann’s contribution to the company’s development and expressed appreciation for his commitment over nearly a decade and a half.

With this leadership transition, Mahlo aims to continue its innovation-led approach while reinforcing its international market presence alongside the existing management team.
