Magnera Liquid Barrier Technology Nominated for INDEX™26 Award

Magnera has announced that its Next-Generation Liquid Barrier Solution for nonwoven textiles has been nominated for the INDEX™26 Award. The nomination recognises innovations presented at INDEX™26, an international exhibition focused on nonwoven materials and technologies.
The technology has been developed for nonwoven textile applications and is designed to provide repellency against water, oils, and clinical fluids. According to the company, the solution achieves this performance without the use of intentionally added per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).
PFAS-based repellents have been subject to regulatory review due to environmental persistence and potential health concerns. The jury of EDANA selected Magnera’s innovation for consideration based on its ability to meet performance requirements in clinical settings while avoiding the use of PFAS.
The company stated that the development focuses on protective textile materials used in healthcare environments, including products designed to protect patients and medical personnel.
“Being recognized among the industry's top innovators reinforces our commitment to creating advanced materials that better the world with possibilities made real,” said Paul Harmon, Chief Innovation & Marketing Officer at Magnera. “Our team’s engineering expertise and dedication to responsible innovation made this breakthrough possible.”
