Mafatlal Industries Commissions 4 MW Solar Project at Nadiad

Mafatlal Industries Limited announces the commissioning of a 4 MW solar power project at its Nadiad manufacturing facility, in partnership with Kosol Energie.
Mafatlal Industries Limited (MIL), the flagship company of the Arvind Mafatlal Group, has commissioned a 4 MW solar power project at its Nadiad manufacturing facility as part of its ongoing focus on clean energy adoption and operational efficiency. The project has been executed in partnership with Kosol Energie Private Limited.
According to the company, the solar installation represents a key step in its long-term transition towards responsible and energy-efficient manufacturing. The ground-mounted project is expected to generate approximately 6.5 million units of clean energy annually, helping reduce reliance on conventional grid power while supporting the company’s broader decarbonisation objectives.
Mafatlal Industries stated that sustainability has been embedded in its operations for more than a century, preceding the formal adoption of ESG frameworks. The commissioning of the solar project marks a continuation of this approach, aimed at strengthening energy security and supporting environmentally conscious manufacturing practices within the Indian textile sector.
The Nadiad facility, one of the company’s largest production centres, plays a central role in Mafatlal’s manufacturing operations and employs a multigenerational workforce. Over the years, the company has implemented several sustainability initiatives at the site, including measures focused on responsible water usage, waste management, and cleaner production processes.
The newly commissioned solar project is expected to contribute to long-term energy stability at the facility, improve operational efficiency, and reduce the plant’s environmental footprint.
Commenting on the development, Mr. Priyavrata Mafatlal, Managing Director of Mafatlal Industries Limited, said,
“At Mafatlal Industries, sustainability has never been a new direction; it has always been part of our DNA. For over a century, we have believed that responsible progress is the only progress that lasts. This solar initiative strengthens that belief and marks an important step in how we prepare our business for the future. Clean energy, efficient manufacturing, and long-term value creation are not goals we pursue occasionally; they are principles we live by every day. This project reflects our commitment to building a more resilient future for our industry and for India.”
Mr. Kalpesh Kalthia, Chairman & Managing Director of Kosol Energie Private Limited, added,
“We are honoured to partner with Mafatlal Industries—an institution that represents over a century of Indian industrial excellence. This 4 MW solar project is more than an energy installation; it reflects a shared vision for a cleaner and more responsible manufacturing future. At Kosol Energie, our mission is to empower industries with reliable, high performance solar solutions, and this collaboration stands as a testament to the growing trust in our technology and engineering capabilities.”
Mafatlal Industries noted that the solar project builds on its existing sustainability practices while supporting the company’s long-term objectives related to responsible manufacturing and energy efficiency.
