Madhya Pradesh Pioneers India’s First Integrated PM MITRA Textile Park in Dhar

Madhya Pradesh has secured approval for a groundbreaking ₹2,100 crore PM MITRA Park in Dhar district, positioning the state as a frontrunner in India’s textile sector transformation. The project, sanctioned by the Union Ministry of Textiles, is set to become the nation’s first fully integrated textile hub, spanning 2,100 acres in Bhainsola village near Indore. Strategic Vision and Economic Impact The park aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “5F” framework: Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign, to strengthen India’s global textile footprint. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav highlighted its potential to revitalise Madhya Pradesh’s cotton industry, which contributes 43% of India’s organic cotton and 24% of global cotton supplies. The initiative aims to generate approximately 3 lakh direct and indirect jobs, bolstering the state’s declaration of 2025 as the “Year of Industry and Employment”. Infrastructure and Sustainability Designed as a greenfield smart hub, the park will feature plug-and-play manufacturing units, a 20 million-litre-per-day zero liquid discharge plant, and solar-powered energy facilities. Residential complexes for workers and vocational training centres for spinning, weaving, and garment production are also planned to ensure a skilled workforce. The Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC), appointed as the master developer, is fast-tracking infrastructure development, including roads and utilities, with major external works slated for completion by mid-2025. Investment Momentum The project has already attracted investment proposals exceeding ₹10,000 crore, reflecting strong industrial interest. Agreements with national textile associations and policy support through the state’s new industrial framework further enhance its appeal. Strategically located near the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway and Hazira port, the park’s connectivity is expected to reduce logistics costs and attract global manufacturers. Broader Industrial Push Madhya Pradesh’s aggressive industrial outreach, including Regional Industry Conclaves and the Global Investors Summit, has yielded proposals worth ₹30.77 lakh crore. The PM MITRA Park underscores the state’s ambition to emerge as a national textile powerhouse while driving sustainable industrialisation and farmer prosperity.
