LPU School of Fashion Design Opens 2026 Admissions with Industry-Focused Curriculum and ₹18 LPA Highest Package

Fashion school expands hands-on learning through industry collaborations, advanced technology training and global academic partnerships

Lovely Professional University's School of Fashion Design has announced admissions for the 2026 academic session, offering programmes designed to combine creativity, technology and sustainability with industry-oriented learning.

The school offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including B.Design (Fashion), a four-year undergraduate programme; B.Sc. Fashion Design, a three-year undergraduate programme; B.F.Tech (Apparel Production), a four-year undergraduate programme; M.Sc. Fashion Design; and Master of Fashion Management, both two-year postgraduate programmes.

The curriculum focuses on design thinking, craftsmanship and sustainability while providing practical training through specialised facilities, including Garment Construction Labs, Pattern Making Labs, Textile Testing Labs, Material Handling Labs, and Mac Labs equipped with advanced digital design software. Students also receive training in CAD, digital textile design, virtual sampling, 3D design tools and AI-based trend prediction to prepare for developments in the fashion industry.

Placement Performance

The university reported that the highest placement package reached ₹18 lakh per annum, while the average package for the top 10% of students stood at ₹11.4 lakh per annum.

  • Anusha Chenichery (B.Sc. Fashion Design 2024) – Trident – ₹18 LPA
  • Sweety Dutta (B.Design Fashion 2024) – Trident – ₹18 LPA
  • Dikhsha Khetan (M.Design Fashion 2024) – Trident Limited – ₹12 LPA
  • Silpa K.S. (M.Sc. Design) – Nike

According to the university, more than 70 companies recruit from the School of Fashion Design, including international brands such as Nike, Puma and Tommy Hilfiger, along with Indian companies including Trident, Reliance, Arvind and Shoppers Stop.

Graduates have pursued careers as designers, stylists, merchandisers, fashion communicators, retail professionals and entrepreneurs.

Industry-Integrated Learning

The university stated that its academic model combines classroom learning with live industry projects and collaborative assignments. Students participate in internships, client projects, craft-cluster initiatives, design competitions, hackathons, certification programmes and skill-development workshops to build professional portfolios during their studies.

The programme also provides opportunities to participate in Lakmé Fashion Week, FDCI collaborations, Chandigarh Times Lifestyle Fashion Week, and international events. Students gain exposure to trade shows, runway presentations, exhibitions and buyer interactions to understand the commercial aspects of the fashion industry.

Research and International Partnerships

The School of Fashion Design has received a ₹6 crore grant from the Ministry of Textiles under the National Technical Textile Mission.

Research activities focus on sustainable textiles, eco-conscious design, wearable technologies and inclusive fashion solutions.

Students also have access to academic collaborations with more than 500 universities across over 80 countries, providing opportunities for semester exchange programmes, credit transfers and international learning experiences.

Industry collaborations with Uniqlo, PDS and Aspire support practical learning through joint projects and workshops.

Expert Sessions and Curriculum

Students attend guest lectures delivered by industry professionals, including Burberry senior client advisors, celebrity stylists and National Award-winning artisans.

Masterclasses conducted by professionals from organisations such as Burberry and Shima Seiki cover subjects including luxury fashion management, sustainable design, digital innovation and emerging fashion technologies.

The curriculum includes workshops on digital textile design, sustainable fashion, luxury fashion management, metaverse applications in fashion and celebrity campaign styling.

Students may also specialise in Fashion Communication, Fashion Merchandising and Sustainable Fashion, while core subjects include fashion illustration, pattern making, textile science, fashion history and garment construction.

The programme is supported by faculty members with experience from leading design institutions and the fashion industry.

'Earn Your Fee Back' Learning Ecosystem

Alongside scholarship opportunities, the university is expanding its "Earn Your Fee Back" learning ecosystem, enabling students to work on live industry projects, consultancy assignments, startups, hackathons, internships and innovation-driven initiatives during their studies.

According to the university, the initiative is designed to help students gain professional experience, develop entrepreneurial skills and access industry-linked learning opportunities before graduation.
