Fashion school reports highest placement package of ₹18 LPA, industry collaborations and global academic partnerships

Lovely Professional University’s School of Fashion Design has announced admissions for its 2026 programmes, highlighting its academic offerings, industry partnerships, placement outcomes and research initiatives.

The school offers multiple programmes across undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including B.Design (Fashion), a 4-year undergraduate programme; B.Sc. Fashion Design, a 3-year undergraduate programme; B.F.Tech (Apparel Production), a 4-year undergraduate programme; M.Sc. Fashion Design; and Master of Fashion Management, both 2-year postgraduate programmes.

According to the university, the curriculum focuses on design thinking, craftsmanship and sustainability while incorporating practical training through specialised facilities such as Garment Construction Labs, Pattern Making Labs, Textile Testing Labs, Material Handling Labs and Mac Labs equipped with digital design software.

Students receive training in technologies including CAD, digital textile design, virtual sampling, 3D design tools and AI-based trend prediction.

Placement and Recruitment

The university reported that the highest salary package offered to students reached ₹18 lakh per annum, while the average package for the top 10% of students stood at ₹11.4 lakh per annum.

Among recent placements:

  • Anusha Chenichery (B.Sc. Fashion Design 2024) was placed with Trident at ₹18 LPA.
  • Sweety Dutta (B.Design Fashion 2024) was placed with Trident at ₹18 LPA.
  • Dikhsha Khetan (M.Design Fashion 2024) was placed with Trident Limited at ₹12 LPA.
  • Silpa K.S. (M.Sc. Design) was placed with Nike.

The school stated that more than 70 companies recruit from its campus, including Nike, Puma, Tommy Hilfiger, Trident, Reliance, Arvind and Shoppers Stop.

Graduates from the programmes have pursued careers as designers, stylists, merchandisers, fashion communicators, retail professionals and entrepreneurs.

Industry Exposure and Practical Learning

The university stated that its learning model incorporates live projects, industry-collaborated assignments, internships, client briefs, craft-cluster projects, design competitions, hackathons, industry certifications and skill-development workshops.

Students also participate in events including Lakmé Fashion Week, FDCI collaborations, Chandigarh Times Lifestyle Fashion Week and international programmes. Additional exposure is provided through trade shows, runway presentations, exhibitions and buyer interactions.

Research and International Collaborations

The School of Fashion Design has secured a ₹6 crore grant from the Ministry of Textiles under the National Technical Textile Mission.

Research activities focus on sustainable textiles, eco-conscious design practices, wearable technologies and inclusive fashion solutions.

Students have access to academic partnerships with more than 500 universities across 80+ countries through semester exchange programmes, credit transfer opportunities and international learning initiatives.

The university also collaborates with brands including Uniqlo, PDS and Aspire. International workshops and industry engagements are conducted to provide exposure to global design practices.

Expert Sessions and Academic Framework

Students participate in guest lectures and masterclasses conducted by industry professionals, including Burberry senior client advisors, celebrity stylists and National Award-winning artisans.

Expert sessions from organisations such as Burberry and Shima Seiki cover areas including luxury fashion management, sustainable design, digital innovation and emerging fashion technologies.

Workshops focus on digital textile design, sustainable fashion, luxury fashion management, metaverse applications in fashion and celebrity campaign styling.

The curriculum includes specialisations in Fashion Communication, Fashion Merchandising and Sustainable Fashion, alongside subjects such as fashion illustration, pattern making, textile science, fashion history and garment construction.

The school stated that its faculty includes professionals from leading design institutions and the fashion industry.

Scholarships and Industry-Linked Learning

Alongside scholarship opportunities, the university is expanding its “Earn Your Fee Back” learning ecosystem.

According to the university, the initiative enables students to participate in live industry projects, consultancy assignments, startups, hackathons, internships and innovation-focused programmes while pursuing their studies.

The institution stated that the model is designed to provide practical industry exposure and opportunities for entrepreneurial engagement before graduation.
