Coimbatore-based engineering and textile machinery company seeks shareholder approval to widen its business scope across emerging technology sectors.

LMW Ltd (formerly Lakshmi Machine Works Ltd) has proposed amending the objects clause of its Memorandum of Association (MoA) to broaden the scope of its business operations.

According to a stock exchange filing, the Coimbatore-based company stated that the proposal reflects the evolving business environment, technological advancements and the emergence of new-age industries and technology-oriented businesses. The Board considered it appropriate to expand the range of business activities that the company can undertake.

If approved, the amendment will enable LMW to operate across multiple sectors, including pharmaceuticals and life sciences, electric vehicles and mobility, renewable energy, electronics manufacturing, and robotics and automation, among others.

The filing stated that the amendment is intended to facilitate future business growth and ensure that the Memorandum of Association appropriately reflects the company's evolving business objectives.

The Board has approved the proposal to amend Clause III(a) (Objects Clause) of the Memorandum of Association, subject to the necessary statutory and shareholder approvals.

Separately, LMW also reported a five-fold increase in consolidated net profit for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026.
