Lenzing Drives Transformation with Sustainability, Innovation and Strategic Growth in 2025 Annual Report

The Lenzing Group has released its 2025 Annual and Sustainability Report titled “Lead Transformation – Generate Impact.” The report outlines the company’s financial performance alongside developments in sustainability, innovation, and fiber technologies. It presents updates on operational progress, product advancements, and environmental targets.
The Lenzing Group has published its 2025 Annual and Sustainability Report, detailing activities across economic, environmental, and social areas. The report highlights the company’s focus on investments in premiumization, operational efficiency, innovation, and sustainability to strengthen its position in cellulose-based fiber production. The report is available in digital format.
“2025 was a challenging year in which we, as the Lenzing Group, demonstrated the strength and unity embedded in our company. Under the guiding principle Lead Transformation – Generate Impact, we improved our performance, sharpened our profile, and consistently aligned Lenzing with the future. During 2025, the company reported developments in sustainability and innovation, including updates to its fiber portfolio. The LENZING™ Lyocell Fill fiber range was expanded to improve thermal insulation, moisture management, and dimensional stability. A new generation of VEOCEL™ Lyocell fibers was introduced for wipes, including applications such as disinfection. The company also introduced TENCEL™ Lyocell HV100 fibers, designed to create matte textures in denim using Variocut technology.
In partnership with Edgewell Personal Care, hygiene products containing VEOCEL™ Lyocell fibers were launched in the North American market. These developments are part of broader efforts to advance the use of bio-based materials in textile and nonwoven applications.
The company maintained its position in external sustainability assessments. It received its fifth consecutive EcoVadis Platinum rating, placing it among the top one percent of assessed companies. It also ranked first in the Canopy Hot Button Report, which evaluates responsible forestry and supply chain transparency. Additional ratings include a “Triple A” score from CDP for climate, water, and forests, and a 2026 “Low Risk” / ESG-Leader rating from Sustainalytics.
In climate-related initiatives, the company continued to implement science-based targets and increased the use of renewable energy. This included sourcing 100 percent grid-based renewable electricity for seven facilities and expanding photovoltaic capacity at the Lenzing site.
Collaborative projects and research initiatives were also reported. Together with Adidas and Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences, the company developed a pilot recycling process that produced a sweater using recycled Lyocell fibers in a closed loop. In the EU-funded CELLFIL project, work is ongoing to scale Lyocell filaments as an alternative to synthetic fibers.
The company also invested EUR 15 million to expand production capacity for VEOCEL™ Viscostar fibers, with a focus on applications in the nonwovens sector, including feminine hygiene.
Recognition for research and internal initiatives included a Top-3 nomination for the “Matilda Award” for programs supporting women in research and the continued presentation of the Lenzing Young Scientist Award for external researchers.
