Kornit Digital has introduced the Presto MAX PLUS, an advanced roll-to-roll digital production system designed to extend digital textile manufacturing into new segments such as footwear, automotive interiors, military applications, high-performance sportswear, and premium home furnishings. The system is being showcased at Texprocess 2026 in Frankfurt, marking a significant step forward in on-demand textile production.
Single-Step Digital Solution for Sustainable Production
Built on the established Presto MAX platform, the new system offers a fully digital, single-step process that requires minimal setup and eliminates the need for minimum order quantities. It supports a broad range of fabrics while enabling water-free printing without pre- or post-treatment processes. This approach significantly reduces waste, energy usage, and environmental impact.
At its core, the system integrates Kornit MAX technology, delivering high retail-quality prints along with a soft, premium fabric feel.
Breakthrough Innovations for High-Performance Applications
Presto MAX PLUS introduces DuraTech™, a durability enhancement technology designed to improve resistance to wear, abrasion, and flex. This makes it suitable for demanding applications such as footwear uppers, automotive interiors, and technical garments.
Another key feature is the patent-pending Precise Overprint technology, which automatically adjusts to variations in fabric structure. This ensures accurate print placement even on complex or unstable materials, including pre-knitted textiles.
The system has already been validated in footwear manufacturing, where it enables the use of specialized functional inks to deliver customized performance attributes such as enhanced durability, compression, and protective properties.
Advanced Capabilities and Automation
The system also supports:
- White ink printing on dyed fabrics
- Expanded color capabilities with Red/Green and Neon inks
- Kornit XDi technology for unique 3D visual and tactile effects
Automation is further enhanced through QualiSet, which ensures consistent calibration and uniform print quality across different production runs, machines, and locations.
Driving the Next Phase of Digital Textile Production
According to Ronen Samuel, digital textile production is evolving toward industrial-scale adoption, particularly in high-performance segments that demand durability, precision, and consistency. The Presto MAX PLUS is designed to support this shift by enabling manufacturers and brands to explore new applications, improve operational flexibility, and accelerate sustainable production practices.
Upgrade Path and Market Launch
Existing users of Presto MAX systems can upgrade to the new PLUS capabilities, allowing them to expand into new markets while maximizing their current investments.
The Presto MAX PLUS was officially unveiled on April 21 at Texprocess 2026, where Kornit is presenting the system at Hall 8, Stand A20.
