State pavilion highlights traditional textiles to expand market access for artisans and strengthen Jharkhand’s presence in national and global markets.
Jharkhand has displayed six Geographical Indication (GI)-tagged handloom products at Bharat Tex 2026, highlighting the state's traditional textile heritage before domestic and international buyers.
The initiative is aimed at increasing the global visibility of Jharkhand's traditional textiles while creating new market opportunities for local artisans.
State Industries Minister Sanjay Prasad Yadav inaugurated the Jharkhand Pavilion at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
The pavilion features Tasar Silk, Kuchai Silk, Bhagaiya Saree & Fabric, Tumka Chadar, Bhoya Saree & Fabric, and Pancho Saree & Fabric, representing the state's traditional weaving practices and cultural heritage.
Addressing the event, Yadav said the government intends to expand Jharkhand's identity beyond the state by increasing its presence in national and international markets.
He said promoting the state's handloom sector on global platforms would help generate employment, reduce migration by creating local livelihood opportunities, and contribute to the state's economic growth.
According to the minister, Bharat Tex 2026 provides an opportunity to connect Jharkhand's traditional textile products with global markets, create new business opportunities for weavers and artisans, and integrate the state's textile sector into global value chains.
The event has emerged as a platform for business, investment, innovation, policy discussions and partnerships across the textile and apparel value chain, bringing together manufacturers, exporters, global buyers, investors, policymakers, start-ups, technology providers and artisans from India and abroad.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Industries Department Director Vishal Sagar, Additional Secretary Preeti, and other senior officials.
