JD Institute Selects 27 Students for Industry Apprenticeship at India Design Show 2026

Finalists from Fashion, Interior Design and Visual Communication programmes to gain industry exposure at Mumbai’s three-day design event
Twenty-seven students from JD Institute of Fashion Technology have been selected for an Industry Apprenticeship at the India Design Show 2026, scheduled to take place from October 9 to 11 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai. The students were shortlisted from a pool of 75 candidates through a video introduction round.
The three-day event brings together designers, brands and creative professionals through curated showcases, installations, product launches and industry conversations. It provides a platform for participants to present their work, exchange ideas and engage with the wider design community.
Through the apprenticeship programme, the selected students will gain first-hand exposure to the professional design environment and observe how different creative disciplines operate together within the industry. The experience is intended to help them understand industry practices and the various elements involved in organising and delivering a design-focused platform.
The 27 finalists represent Fashion, Interior Design and Visual Communication programmes across different academic years at JD Institute of Fashion Technology.
Mr. Yogesh Dalal, Trustee, and Dr. Payal Dalal, Director, personally appreciated the students for their achievement and the opportunity to participate in the programme.
Commenting on the selection, Rinesh Dalal, Director of JD Institute of Fashion Technology, said, “India Design Show brings together different facets of the design industry, making it a valuable platform for students to understand the scale and diversity of the field they are preparing to enter. At JD Institute, we place importance on giving students experiences that broaden their perspective and help them understand the demands of the profession. Being selected for an opportunity of this scale encourages our students to trust their abilities and take their next steps with greater confidence.”
The selection reflects JD Institute of Fashion Technology’s focus on providing students at different stages of their academic journey with opportunities to engage with the professional industry. Participation in the India Design Show apprenticeship will allow the finalists to apply their learning in a real-world setting and develop a clearer understanding of the design sector.
