AGTI and ITAMMA sign MoU covering research, technology exchange, training, machinery evaluation and industrial study visits
The Indian Textile Accessories & Machinery Manufacturers’ Association (ITAMMA) held its 83rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) at its registered office on 19 September 2026, bringing together representatives from India and Indonesia through a combination of physical and virtual participation.
ITAMMA President Mr Omprakash Mantry welcomed representatives of the Indonesian Garment and Textile Association (AGTI), the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia and the Ministry of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia, who joined virtually from Indonesia. Mr Shiv Kanodia, President of The Badlapur Textile Association, attended the programme physically.

ITAMMA Highlights Textile Machinery Industry Outlook
Addressing the gathering, Mr Omprakash Mantry said India's economic landscape had undergone significant changes during the year under report, including government announcements concerning FDI and industry encouragement.
He noted that India's GDP growth for 2025-26 was estimated at 7.7%, compared with 7.1% in 2024-25, while inflation remained under control.
Mr Mantry also said the performance of the textile machinery and accessories industry is closely linked to manufacturing investments, industrial production indexes and global trade volumes rather than GDP alone.
He referred to the Global Textile Machinery Market Size Report, which valued the worldwide textile machinery industry at approximately USD 55.28 billion to USD 58.39 billion in 2025–2026 and projected it to reach approximately USD 93.78 billion by 2034, at a CAGR of 6.10%.
According to Mr Mantry, the sector reflects a broader shift towards automation, supply chain diversification and sustainable production technologies. He added that, as a capital-intensive B2B industry, its performance requires consideration of both macroeconomic factors and operational developments.
Mr Mantry thanked former presidents, trustees and governors, members of ITAMMA's Managing Committee and the Directorate Team for their contribution and guidance during the year. He also acknowledged the support of India ITME Society, TMMA, SIMA, MSME, MOT and MHI.
