Italian textile machinery manufacturers are preparing for a significant presence at Colombiatex 2026, the leading trade fair for Colombia’s textile and apparel supply chain, scheduled to take place in Medellín from January 27 to 29, 2026. The upcoming edition once again highlights the long-standing collaboration between Colombian textile producers and Italian technology suppliers.

Although demand from Colombia’s textile sector softened during 2024, the country continues to be one of South America’s most important markets for textile machinery. Recent trade data points to a clear recovery trend. In the first half of 2025, Italian textile machinery exports to Colombia reached €6 million, representing a 48% increase compared to the same period last year. If this pace continues, export values could move closer to the 2022 peak of €18 million.

According to Marco Salvadè, President of ACIMIT, Colombia’s textile and clothing industry has recorded notable growth in recent years, supported by ongoing investments in technological modernisation. Italian machinery, he noted, has frequently played a central role in this upgrading process, making Colombiatex a key meeting point for strengthening industry relationships.

As in previous editions, ICE – Italian Trade Agency, in cooperation with ACIMIT (Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers), will organise a national Italian Pavilion at Pabellón Amarillo during Colombiatex 2026. The pavilion will host 22 Italian companies, including Ugolini Srl, Lonati Spa, PLM Impianti Srl, 3G Dosing Automation Srl, Santoni Spa, Laip Srl, Salvadè Srl, Cubotex Srl, BTSR International Spa, Reggiani Macchine Spa, Monti-Mac Srl, Ratti Luino Srl, Tonello Srl, Itema Spa, Noseda Srl, Kairos Engineering Srl, MCS Officina Meccanica Spa, LGL Electronics Spa, Waternext Spa, Lafer Spa, Fadis Spa, and FICIT Srl.

Italian participation will be further strengthened by additional ACIMIT member companies exhibiting independently or through local representatives, including Brazzoli Srl, Color Service Srl, Martex Srl, Monti Antonio Spa, and Morgan Tecnica Spa. Together, these exhibitors underline Italy’s continued role as a key technology partner for Colombia’s textile manufacturing sector.
