Italian Textile Machinery Industry Targets Turkmenistan Market at TURKMEN TEXTILE EXPO 2026

ACIMIT and Italian Trade Agency lead “Made in Italy” delegation to Ashgabat with focus on advanced textile technologies
The Italian textile machinery industry will participate in TURKMEN TEXTILE EXPO 2026 with a “Made in Italy” delegation organized by ACIMIT and the Italian Trade Agency (ICE). The exhibition will be held in Ashgabat from June 4 to 6, 2026.
The initiative is intended to reinforce Italy’s technological position in the Turkmen textile market, which is considered strategically important for the global textile industry.
Turkmenistan remains a significant textile production hub, with cotton representing the country’s third-largest export product. National authorities are continuing efforts to strengthen an integrated domestic supply chain capable of processing raw materials locally and producing higher-value-added textile products. This strategy is driving demand for advanced textile machinery and technology as part of the country’s broader economic diversification plans.
Italy is positioning itself as a technology partner for Turkmen textile manufacturers. Following results recorded in 2023, when Italian textile machinery exports to Turkmenistan reached 13 million euros, the market is now moving through a transition phase linked to future investment plans announced by local authorities.
According to the industry data provided, accessories account for 56% of Italian textile machinery exports to Turkmenistan, followed by spinning machinery at 31% and knitting machinery at 13%.
“The Turkmen market is experiencing a period of maturation,” declares the President of ACIMIT, “and for the near future, we see significant opportunities related to upgrading existing plants and the investment plan scheduled by local public authorities, with a focus on high-tech specialization. The flexibility, versatility, and high technological level driven by our companies’ constant R&D activities allow us to offer tailored responses and innovative solutions, confirming Italian technology as the optimal choice for the industrial future of Turkmenistan.”
The Italian companies participating in the Italy Pavilion include: BIANCO, COLOR SERVICE, CORINO MACCHINE, DOVER INDUSTRIES ITALY, ITEMA, M.C.S. OFFICINA MECCANICA, MARZOLI MACHINES TEXTILE, MESDAN, SALVADE’, SAVIO MACCHINE TESSILI, and STALAM.
