Italian Design Institute to Conclude ‘Dressing the Future’ Programme with Final Event at Como Silk Museum

Students of the Master in Fashion Textile Design will present collaborative textile projects developed with companies from the Como district during the July 9 event.

Following the roundtable "Dressing the Future", held in Milan to encourage discussion on the future of fashion and textile design, the Italian Design Institute will present "Dressing the Future – From Vision to Project" on July 9, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM, at the Silk Museum in Como.

The event represents the concluding stage of the institute's educational programme, focusing on the transition from design concepts to finished textile products while highlighting the contribution of one of Italy's best-known textile manufacturing regions.

The programme serves as the final event for students enrolled in the Italian Design Institute's Master in Fashion Textile Design course. During the ceremony, students will receive certificates marking the completion of their projects.

The event will also include the first presentation of the headbands and scarves created through collaboration with companies based in the Como textile district. The products reflect the integration of academic training with manufacturing processes through cooperation between educational institutions and industry.

Recognition plaques will be presented to partner companies Achille Pinto Spa, Artestampa, and Color Company for their contribution to the production of the textile items. Awards will also be presented to instructors Marina Nelli and Ylenia Cremascoli, who supervised the students throughout the project.

The programme will begin with institutional greetings from representatives of the Italian Design Institute, followed by a presentation outlining the educational journey and the connection between the earlier Milan roundtable and the students' completed projects.

A representative from the partner companies will also share perspectives on collaboration between educational institutions and the textile industry in the Como district, recognised internationally for its textile manufacturing, innovation and production expertise.

According to the institute, the event is intended to strengthen connections between education, businesses and regional manufacturing by encouraging continued collaboration between research, creativity and production.

The Silk Museum in Como, known for preserving the history and development of Italy's textile tradition, will host the event as the setting for the conclusion of the programme.
