Its wholly owned subsidiary unit of UAE, M/s LMW Global FZE is focussing on overseas markets with its modern assembly plant and full-fledged sales, marketing and after sales service function operating from Dubai.

The TVC Media Team recently had the opportunity to interview  Mr Ramanadane C (RAM), Chief Executive Officer of LMW Global FZE during ITM, Istanbul and following are the excerpts.

Can you provide an overview of your company’s presence in Turkey?

LMW has been operating in the Turkish market for over 30 years, establishing a strong foothold in this dynamic market. Turkey has always been a key market for us due to its potential for growth in the future. Currently, we offer our complete range of spinning machines to over 60 customers in Turkey. We are committed to expanding and serving this market by providing cutting-edge technology, exceptional service, and a diverse range of products.

How does your company cater to customers in the Turkey market?

Since entering the Turkey market, we have established our presence with the support of a strong selling partner. Additionally, we have set up our own LMW team dedicated to sales, services, and customer support across all areas. Currently, we are collaborating with channel partner ERKO, who has a deep understanding of the Turkey market, particularly in the post-spinning business. They are actively supporting us in sales and marketing our products, enabling us to better reach and serve our customers in Turkey.

What is the vision for the Turkey market in terms of spinning machines?

Our vision for the Turkey market is to establish ourselves as one of the top preferred suppliers of spinning machines. We have a strong technological backup, a comprehensive product range, and a reputation as a leading solution provider in the market. Our goal is to leverage these strengths to become a key player in providing spinning machines in Turkey.

How is Turkey’s textile industry dealing with market volatility and government economic measures?

The textile industry in Turkey is navigating through the high volatility in the market by adapting to fluctuating factors like geopolitical conditions, raw material costs and increasing labour costs. Despite the challenges faced by spinners in the country, there is optimism that the industry is bouncing back. The government has implemented measures to support the economy, and investors are showing renewed interest in the sector by initiating modernization projects and expanding their operations. With signs of investment returning and discussions on new projects underway, it is anticipated that Turkey’s textile industry will recover and return to normalcy swiftly.

How does LMW tailor its technology for the Turkey market compared to the Indian market?

In the case of Turkey, LMW sees the market as relatively new despite having a presence there for over three decades. Our products are specifically designed and manufactured to meet the unique demands of the Turkish market. We understand the need for high-tech products that prioritise user-friendliness and safety, along with a focus on productivity and quality as fundamental requirements. Moreover, automation is now a key expectation from investors, and we have incorporated advanced automation features into our products. Additionally, our machines are integrated with spin connect software, enabling data collection and analysis to empower operators and decision-makers. In summary, LMW products offer high technology, extensive automation, and significant value to investors through efficiency gains in power, workforce, and material resources.

Do you have a production unit and R&D centre in Turkey?

No, we don’t have those facilities in Turkey. However, we have recently established an assembly plant in Dubai, UAE which is strategically located near the Turkey market. This has strengthened our connection with markets in Turkey, Africa, and Uzbekistan. As a result, we can quickly understand and address the needs of our customers, converting them into solutions efficiently.

How is the company facing competition from the European machinery market?

In Turkey, we face healthy competition, leveraging our strengths to provide value to our customers. Today, customers prioritise values over brands or product fantasies. By focusing on delivering value, we have gained full appreciation from our customers. Our commitment to meeting customer requirements through excellent products and services sets us apart in the market. While we acknowledge the competition, we are confident in our ability to deliver the best to our customers.

Message for the spinning industry in Turkey: Why choose LMW machinery?

Since our inception, LMW has a deep understanding of the spinning industry’s real requirements, considering factors such as raw material challenges, cost, labour availability, power, and geopolitical influences. Our equipment and products are designed with these challenges in mind, aiming to provide solutions rather than just making a sale. Our commitment extends beyond a transaction to building long-lasting relationships with our customers, offering support and solutions that set us apart from competitors. This approach has garnered trust from investors and consistently led to business progress for those who have chosen to invest in LMW.

How would you summarise your experience at the ITM exhibition?

I am pleased to share that our participation at the ITM exhibition was very positive. Initially, the response was moderate, but in the last few days, it turned out to be exceptionally good. Visitors from all segments including spinners, our existing customers, potential investors, and those in discussions with us, showed a keen interest in our latest technology and products, especially our cutting-edge Autopiecer  solution – RAP. The Ringframe autopiecer was not just viewed as a product but as a valuable solution that the industry needs. The enthusiastic reception and appreciation from visitors have left us optimistic about potential business opportunities and expanding our customer base. Overall, it was a rewarding experience that showcased our innovation and technology to a receptive audience at ITM.
