Intertextile Shenzhen Apparel Fabrics 2026 will take place from 9 – 11 June in Shenzhen, focusing on textile innovation as a central theme. The event will provide a platform for exhibitors to engage with the garment sector across the Greater Bay Area (GBA), where AI integration is shaping industry processes.

The 2026 edition will introduce two new features: the Innovation Studio showcase and the Future Horizons forum, building on the technology-focused direction of previous editions.

Ms Wilmet Shea, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, stated: “In recent years, a key differentiator of this platform has been its unique position to leverage Shenzhen’s reputation as a hub for both fashion and innovation. With cities in the Greater Bay Area increasingly betting on AI adoption and technological advancement for their apparel sectors, we were eager to give our exhibitors even more avenues to attract relevant buyers hailing from across the region, China, and overseas. Accordingly, the decision to adopt the textile innovation theme and launch Innovation Studio and Future Horizons is a direct response to market sentiment, and well-aligned with Messe Frankfurt’s ‘Texpertise Focus AI’ concept that is rolling out globally this year.”

Messe Frankfurt is expanding its ‘Texpertise Focus AI’ initiative across more than 60 textile fairs worldwide, with Intertextile Shenzhen positioned to contribute to this effort. Shenzhen’s public and private sectors are continuing to develop the city and its central business district in Futian as a fashion hub for the GBA, with AI identified as a key driver. Nearby, Humen in Dongguan is also applying AI technologies to improve digitalisation, sustainability, and international competitiveness within its garment industry.

Located in Futian, Intertextile Shenzhen offers access to other textile hubs including Dongguan, Guangzhou, and Hong Kong. The event is expected to attract both regional and international participants. China’s visa-free policy now applies to 50 countries and regions, including recent additions such as Canada and the UK, while five ports in the GBA offer 240-hour visa-free transit.

The 2025 edition recorded nearly 40,000 visits from 64 countries and regions and introduced The Closet, an area dedicated to eco-friendly materials and designs by emerging designers. In 2026, The Closet will be expanded with the addition of the Innovation Studio, which will present advanced textile materials, designs, and solutions to support trend navigation and exhibitor visibility.

The Future Horizons forum will focus on developments shaping the textile industry, providing insights for manufacturers, suppliers, and designers. The broader fringe programme will include sessions covering design, technology, business, and sustainability topics.

The exhibition will feature a wide range of product categories, including fibres and yarns, fabrics, garments, and accessories for ladieswear, casualwear, denim, suiting and shirting, functional wear, sportswear, swimwear, and lingerie.

Mr Justin Ko, Senior Marketing Officer at the Laboratory for Artificial Intelligence in Design (AiDLab), who exhibited at the previous edition, commented: “As a research institute focused on AI, we develop innovative applications for clothing testing and fashion design. AI significantly improves efficiency in traditional processes, simplifying and accelerating tasks. During the fair, we noticed strong interest from visitors and met potential partners. We are satisfied with our results here in Shenzhen. Most enquiries came from domestic customers, including fabric manufacturers and designers, particularly interested in our AI design solutions.”

Intertextile Shenzhen Apparel Fabrics is organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd; Messe Frankfurt (Shenzhen) Co Ltd; the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT; and the China Textile Information Center. The fair will be held alongside Yarn Expo Shenzhen and PH Value.

Additional events include Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Autumn Edition and Yarn Expo Autumn, scheduled for 25 – 27 August 2026 in Shanghai.
