Nearly 620 exhibitors from 11 countries and regions showcased advanced textile solutions, while new sustainability and innovation platforms strengthened international engagement.
Intertextile Shenzhen Apparel Fabrics wrapped up its latest edition on 11 June 2026, presenting a combination of established textile suppliers and emerging innovations across the fashion and apparel sector. Held alongside Yarn Expo Shenzhen and PH Value, the exhibition welcomed nearly 620 exhibitors from 11 countries and regions, attracting over 20,000 visits from 74 represented markets during the three-day event.
The exhibition also introduced several new initiatives centred on sustainability and technological advancement, including the Future Horizons Forum and the Innovation Studio, both making their debut this year.
International Participation Reflects Growing Regional Importance
According to Ms Wilmet Shea, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, Shenzhen's position within the Greater Bay Area, combined with improved accessibility, regional industrial strength and China's visa-free initiatives, contributed to increased international participation. She also noted that the exhibition's strategic repositioning toward innovation-focused industries strengthened engagement across both the exhibition floor and the fringe programme.
New Forum Explores Textile Innovation
The newly launched Future Horizons Forum focused on sustainability, advanced materials and artificial intelligence applications within the textile industry.
Sessions were moderated by academics from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), the Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) and Wuyi University.
Guest speakers represented organisations including the Asia International Hemp Federation (AIHF), LIVVIUM, niisham.liimbu, Panther Textile Group, Shift Fashion Group, and Sunday Square.
Alongside the forum, the Innovation Studio showcased collaborative projects developed with AIHF, School of Fashion and Textiles (PolyU), THEi, and Wuyi University, highlighting new textile technologies and sustainable material developments.
Academic Perspective on Innovation
Dr Eve Nwaogu Chan, Programme Leader of Fashion Design at THEi, highlighted the exhibition's emphasis on smart materials, functional finishes, sustainable chemistry and digital manufacturing. She said the event supports collaboration across the Greater Bay Area and serves as a platform connecting domestic stakeholders with international partners.
Strong International Buyer Presence
The exhibition attracted VIP buyers from global companies including Adidas, American Eagle, Lululemon, and SIDEFAME, alongside Chinese brands such as Annakiki, CHLOSIO, and Ellassay.
A total of 65 buyers participated through four overseas buyer delegations, including representatives from the Malaysian Knitting Manufacturers Association (MKMA) and the Thailand Textile Institute.
Exhibitors represented countries and regions including China, France, Italy, Korea, Peru, the United States, Vietnam, and others, while 16 companies participated in the dedicated Japan Zone.
Buyer Highlights Business Matching Programme
Mr Malique Mohamud, CEO of The Niteshop / Concrete Blossom from the Netherlands, attended the exhibition to source sustainable and regenerative-fibre fabrics for a circular manufacturing initiative being developed with the Municipality of Rotterdam.
He noted that the exhibition's business matching programme enabled several high-potential business connections within a short period.
Exhibitors Report Targeted Buyer Engagement
Exhibitors from different markets reported positive engagement throughout the exhibition.
Representatives from Shanghai Cavallo 1886 Ltd., Global Standard gemeinnutzige GmbH, Kirari Textile (Shanghai) Co Ltd, and Henglun Textile (Vietnam) Co Ltd highlighted growing visitor numbers, increased interest in sustainable materials such as kapok fibres, strong demand for premium fabrics, and opportunities to reconnect with existing customers while meeting new buyers.
Visitors Find Diverse Sourcing Options
Ms Zongying Lin, Purchasing Manager at Guangdong Bincai Textile Co Ltd, said the exhibition brought together many existing suppliers while also providing access to exhibitors from countries such as India, offering a broader range of embroidered fabrics and sourcing options.
Hemp Innovation Gains Industry Attention
Ms Sharon Diedre Leyson, Secretary-General of the Asia International Hemp Federation (AIHF), said the exhibition provided an international platform for promoting hemp applications across textiles and industrial sectors, including automotive composites and bioplastics. She highlighted the Innovation Studio as an effective venue for demonstrating how traditional materials can support future product development through technological innovation.
