Interstoff Enhances Output with Svegea EC 200 Machines

Sweden – June 2025 – Svegea, a TMAS (Swedish Textile Machinery Association) member, has delivered six of its EC 200 automatic collarette cutting machines to Interstoff Group, Bangladesh, within the past year.
Part of the Pandughar Group, Interstoff was established in 2000 with just 62 sewing machines. Today, it comprises Interstoff Apparels, Interstoff Clothing, and South East Textile, with a workforce of over 10,000, producing around 72 million finished garments annually.

The company’s state-of-the-art setup includes advanced knitting, dyeing, and finishing equipment from Japan and Europe. Its daily fabric output reaches 30,000 kg. Through innovation in yarn and processing, Interstoff has built a reputation for environmentally responsible, high-quality fabrics, earning lab certifications from global brands like H&M, Marks & Spencer, Sainsbury’s, and Tesco.
Two Svegea EC 200 machines have been installed at each Interstoff division to produce tubular garment components such as cuffs, collars, and neck tapes. While Svegea’s EC 300 is faster, Interstoff opted for the EC 200 due to its superior ability to handle seams, especially those stitched with polyester thread. The EC 200’s scissor-action knives outperform the EC 300’s pressure-based crush-cutting system on seam-laden fabrics.
These machines operate at up to 40 metres per minute and are equipped with Svegea’s electronic master/slave drive system. Each unit also features a third knife set, enabling triple-band cutting and significantly higher output per minute when bands are cut in parallel.
Håkan Steene, Managing Director of Svegea, noted,
“Advances in automation continue to improve the efficiency of our bespoke machines. We've had notable success in Bangladesh, especially through our regional partner Tech Cell, and we've built strong ties with key integrated garment manufacturers here.”
Shaikh Mohammad Ilias, Director at Interstoff Apparels, added,
“We have maintained a strong relationship with Svegea. These new machines are enabling us to ramp up production, optimize fabric use, and reassign labor to other critical areas.”
Therese Premler-Andersson, Secretary General of TMAS, commented,
“Global brands are increasingly setting up operations in Bangladesh due to its efficiencies and integrated supply chain. The country aims to hit $50 billion in RMG exports this year, targeting $100 billion by 2030. TMAS members, including Svegea, continue to support these ambitions through advanced automation tools that promote both sustainability and competitiveness.”
Svegea will showcase its cutting solutions at ITMA Asia + CITME, from October 28–31 in Singapore, at Hall 6, Stand D109.
