Global Sporting Goods Leader Confirms Early Return to Reimagined ISPO

INTERSPORT has officially confirmed its participation as the first major retail partner for ISPO 2026, marking strong industry confidence in the expo’s new direction as it relocates to Amsterdam with enhanced buyer programmes.

ISPO organisers Raccoon Media Group and Messe München have announced that INTERSPORT, one of the world’s largest and most influential sporting goods retailers, is the first major retail partner to officially confirm its participation in the reimagined ISPO 2026.

As the current edition in Munich concludes, the globally recognised trade fair for the sporting goods, outdoor, and winter sports industries prepares to enter a new era. With the event relocating to Amsterdam and shifting to earlier November dates, the confirmation from INTERSPORT—an organisation with a long-standing partnership with ISPO—signals strong industry confidence in its renewed direction.

Mike Seaman, Group CEO of Raccoon Media Group, stated: “Partnering with INTERSPORT as our first confirmed retail partner for ISPO 2026 is a major milestone for the event and for the entire sports industry. INTERSPORT’s global influence, deep consumer connection, and commitment to innovation make them the perfect collaborator as we build a future-focused ISPO. This partnership allows us to bring brands and retailers closer together - and sets a powerful foundation for what ISPO 2026 will represent.”

The collaboration ensures a seamless connection between INTERSPORT and global sports brands. With 5,464 specialty stores across 42 countries, the improved accessibility and earlier schedule of ISPO 2026 offer significant value for the retailer. A dedicated INTERSPORT Members Lounge will be introduced at RAI Amsterdam, complementing a £1M expansion of the global hosted buyer programme and enabling INTERSPORT’s global buying teams to participate more effectively.

Seaman added: “ROI is everything, our exhibitors want meaningful business outcomes. This is driving our strategic emphasis on lead-gen, buyer meetings and metrics that demonstrate value. Our Hosted Buyer Programme is central to this and INTERSPORT clearly recognise the potential ROI to be gleaned by hosting multiple meetings in one location.”

He further noted that the early confirmation by INTERSPORT underscores strong belief in ISPO’s updated strategy and investment. “Confidence is clearly high in our new strategic direction and investment commitment. To have INTERSPORT confirm their attendance at such an early stage reinforces that ISPO remains THE premier global trade fair to attend.”

Beyond commercial alignment, ISPO and INTERSPORT share a deeper purpose. Both organisations, as multi-brand and multi-category leaders, are dedicated to expanding global access to sport, health, and well-being—ensuring that more people can experience the positive impact of an active lifestyle.

ISPO 2026 is poised to deliver an experience far beyond a conventional trade fair. Exhibitors and attendees can expect an immersive, inspirational, and commercially dynamic event. Over three days, ISPO 2026 will present curated education, experiential activations, and innovative formats that go beyond traditional booths. Evening ISPO events, dedicated networking, and collaborative sessions will bring INTERSPORT buyers and global brands together, creating long-term value and relationship-building opportunities.
