Woolmark expands eligibility criteria for the prestigious fashion award, inviting designers from independent labels and established fashion brands worldwide.
Woolmark has announced that applications are now open for the next edition of the International Woolmark Prize (IWP), one of the fashion industry's longest-running awards recognising emerging design talent and innovation using Australian Merino wool.
For more than 70 years, the International Woolmark Prize has served as a platform for designers to showcase creativity, craftsmanship and innovation. Previous winners and participants include Karl Lagerfeld, Yves Saint Laurent, Valentino Garavani, Rahul Mishra and Gabriela Hearst.
Eligibility Expanded for Diverse Creative Careers
For its latest global cycle, Woolmark has broadened the eligibility criteria to reflect the changing nature of careers within the fashion industry.
In addition to independent fashion labels, designers who have gained experience while working with established fashion brands and organisations are now eligible to apply. The revised criteria acknowledge that many creative professionals build expertise in collection development, product innovation and brand leadership before launching their own businesses—or choose to remain within established fashion houses.
Applications Open Across Global Markets
Applications are now open in eligible markets worldwide.
Following the application process, shortlisted candidates will participate in a series of discovery and incubation programmes designed to support both creative and commercial development.
Participants will also receive access to:
- Industry mentorship
- Professional development opportunities
- Global networking through Woolmark's international fashion community
- Guidance from industry experts
Supporting the Future of Fashion
